MR Truck Licence Requirements

1. You must, have held a Provisional or Open C Class (Car) Licence for 12 months.
2. Pay the appropriate fee and pass the Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test with Service NSW or Queensland Transport.
3. Pay the appropriate fee and pass the practical Heavy Vehicle Driving Test with Service NSW or Queensland Transport .

3 Types of MR Licences

Medium Rigid Unconditional (MR)

Drivers with a Medium Rigid Unconditional level of driving experience face no restrictions on the gearbox. With this licence type, you can drive any MR vehicle with an automatic, synchromesh, or non-synchromesh gearbox.

Medium Rigid Condition B (MRB)

Drivers with Medium Rigid Condition B driving licences can drive all MR vehicles with a manual or automatic gearbox.

Medium Rigid Condition A (MRA)

After completing your MR truck training and passing the tests, you can only drive an MR vehicle with an automatic gearbox (If you hold a Automatic Car or Light Rigid Licence.)
